About this policyHow Smile Design Boutique collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website, contact us, or receive treatment in our clinic.
Last updatedJuly 1, 2026

This privacy policy explains how Smile Design Boutique collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website, contact us, or receive treatment in our clinic. We respect your privacy and process your data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you are a patient, additional clinical documents and consent forms apply in the clinic. Those documents prevail for medical and treatment-specific topics. If you have any questions, contact us at info@smiledesignboutique.com.

1 Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is Smile Design Boutique, Quai du Mont-Blanc 7, 1201 Geneva, Switzerland. This policy also covers our affiliated brands operated from the same clinic: Smile Studio, Ortho Studio, and Implant Studio. In this policy, we refer to Smile Design Boutique as "we", "us", or "our".

You can reach us by email at info@smiledesignboutique.com or by phone on +41 22 539 10 11.

2 What data we collect

The data we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Data you provide directly

When you fill in a form on our website, send us an email, call us, message us, or visit the clinic, you may provide:

  • Identification data: first and last name, title, and date of birth
  • Contact data: email address, phone number, postal address, and country and city of residence
  • Appointment and enquiry data: preferred dates and times, the treatment you are interested in, your messages and comments, and how you heard about us
  • Financing and eligibility data: the details we need to start a financing eligibility check with a partner, such as your name, address, date of birth, contact details, and the approximate treatment amount
  • Marketing preferences: your choice to receive, or not receive, marketing messages by email, SMS, phone, or messaging apps

If you become a patient, we also process health data, such as your medical and dental history, clinical notes and charts, photos, X-rays, scans, and 3D records, and your treatment plans and progress. This data is covered by medical secrecy and by the specific patient forms you sign in the clinic.

Data we collect automatically

When you visit our website, we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, and language settings, along with usage data such as the pages you visit, links you click, and the date and time of your visit. We collect this using cookies, server logs, and similar technologies. Our Cookie Policy explains this in more detail.

3 Why we use your data

We use your personal data only for clear and lawful purposes.

  • To respond to your requests: to answer your messages, contact you about a consultation, and send you information you asked for.
  • To organize and provide treatment: to create and maintain your patient file, plan and deliver your treatment, document your care, and send appointment reminders and important information.
  • To handle financing requests: if you ask to pay in installments through a financing partner, to collect and share the data needed for an eligibility check.
  • To manage and secure our website: to keep the site working, prevent misuse, and improve your experience.
  • To send marketing, with your consent: to share clinic updates, offers, and educational content, only where you have opted in.
  • To meet our legal obligations: to comply with accounting, tax, health, and record-keeping laws.

Depending on the purpose, we rely on one or more legal bases: your consent, the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations. For health data, we also rely on the bases that apply to medical care under Swiss law.

4 How we share your data

We treat your data as confidential and never sell it. We share it only where necessary, with:

  • Our clinical and administrative team, on a need-to-know basis
  • Financing partners, where you ask us to check payment-plan eligibility
  • Trusted service providers who act on our instructions, such as IT, hosting, communications, appointment, and virtual agent providers, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations
  • Other healthcare professionals involved in your care, with your knowledge
  • Authorities, regulators, or advisors where the law requires or permits it
5 Our virtual agent

Some calls and messages to our booking line may be handled by an automated virtual agent (an AI-powered assistant) that helps you book, confirm, reschedule, or cancel a first consultation. These interactions may be recorded, transcribed, and processed to manage your appointment and improve service quality, in line with this policy. You can ask to speak to a member of our team at any time, or call our direct clinic line on +41 22 700 20 20. The virtual agent does not provide medical or dental advice.

6 International data transfers

We are based in Switzerland. Some of our service providers, and our affiliated clinic in Dubai, may process data outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area. Where we transfer data to a country without an equivalent level of protection, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

7 How long we keep your data

We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as required by law. Medical and dental records are kept for the period required under Swiss law, which is generally at least ten years. Enquiry and marketing data is kept for as long as it remains relevant, or until you ask us to delete it or withdraw your consent.

8 How we protect your data

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. These include access controls, secure systems, staff confidentiality obligations, and careful selection of the providers we work with. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

9 Your rights

Subject to Swiss and, where applicable, EU data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Ask us to delete your data, where the law allows
  • Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Receive certain data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@smiledesignboutique.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or your local supervisory authority in the EU.

10 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to help it function, understand how it is used, and, with your consent, measure and improve our content and campaigns. Our Cookie Policy explains what we use and how you can manage your preferences.

11 Children's privacy

Our website is intended for adults. Where we treat minors, we do so with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and we handle their data with particular care.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "last updated" date above shows when the latest changes were made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
