We reserve a dedicated consultation time for you and prepare in advance so your visit runs smoothly and safely. These terms explain how our in-person first consultation appointments work, how you can reschedule or cancel, what happens if you do not attend, how our virtual agent works, and how we process your information, including information needed for financing requests.
By booking a first consultation, you agree to these appointment terms and conditions.
This booking is for an in-person first consultation with a dentist. The purpose of the consultation is to assess your oral health, understand your concerns and goals, and explain suitable treatment options and next steps.
The first consultation may include a clinical examination and, when clinically appropriate, diagnostic steps such as imaging or digital scans. If we recommend diagnostics, we explain why before proceeding.
Treatment, procedures, and follow-up visits are scheduled separately.
Your first consultation is designed to give you clarity. It typically includes:
- A clinical assessment
- A discussion of your concerns and goals
- A clear explanation of suitable treatment options and next steps
Any treatment plan, timeline, and cost estimate depend on clinical findings. If you decide to proceed with treatment, we will confirm details and schedule the next appointment separately.
When you book, you should receive a confirmation by email or message. We may send reminders, but you remain responsible for attending even if you do not receive a reminder.
If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us to verify your booking. An appointment is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation by email or SMS.
To help us deliver safe and efficient care, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information, including medical history where requested, and update it if it changes
- Attend your appointment on time
- Follow clinic instructions related to safety and clinical care
- Inform us as early as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel
If you have urgent symptoms such as swelling, uncontrolled pain, fever, or difficulty breathing, please call us. In emergencies, seek emergency medical care.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your first consultation, please call us as early as possible on our virtual agent and booking line, +41 22 539 10 11, or our direct clinic line, +41 22 700 20 20.
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice whenever you can. Early notice lets us offer the appointment time to another patient. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice may be treated as a late cancellation under section 9.
If you arrive late, we may not be able to complete the full consultation within the reserved time. Depending on the delay and our clinical schedule, we may:
- Shorten the consultation, or
- Reschedule your appointment
Significant lateness may be treated as a late cancellation if we cannot use the reserved time.
The first-consultation fee depends on the clinic you book with:
- Smile Design Boutique — The first consultation is charged at CHF 170. The full amount is credited toward your treatment plan if you choose to proceed with us.
- Implant Studio, Smile Studio, and Ortho Studio — The first appointment is free of charge.
The applicable fee, and the notice period for cancellations, is shown at the time of booking.
A missed appointment affects other patients and clinic operations. If you do not attend, or cancel too late for us to reassign your time slot, the following may apply:
- Smile Design Boutique — The CHF 170 consultation fee may be retained and is not credited toward a future treatment plan.
- Implant Studio, Smile Studio, and Ortho Studio — Although the first appointment is free, a late-cancellation or missed-appointment fee may apply to cover the reserved clinical time. The amount is communicated at the time of booking.
Where we are able to reassign the slot, we will take that into account.
Where appointments are repeatedly cancelled at short notice or missed, we may ask for prepayment or a deposit to confirm future bookings, including at our free-consultation clinics.
You can reach us in the following ways:
- Virtual agent and booking line: +41 22 539 10 11. Calls and messages to this number may be handled by our automated virtual agent (see section 12), which can help you book, confirm, reschedule, or cancel a first consultation, and can connect you to our team.
- Direct clinic line: +41 22 700 20 20. To speak directly with our reception team.
- Email: info@smiledesignboutique.com. For questions, documents, or to manage your booking.
To manage appointments efficiently, some calls or messages may be handled by an automated virtual agent (an AI-powered assistant) rather than a member of our team. By using this service, you agree to the following:
- Disclosure. You may be interacting with an automated virtual agent. It can provide general information and help you book, confirm, reschedule, or cancel a first consultation.
- Speak to a person at any time. You can ask to be connected to a member of our team, or call our direct clinic line on +41 22 700 20 20.
- No clinical advice. The virtual agent provides scheduling and general administrative information only. It does not provide medical or dental advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. For clinical questions, please speak with a dentist. In an emergency, call us or seek emergency medical care.
- Recording and processing. Calls and messages with the virtual agent may be recorded, transcribed, and processed to manage your appointment, keep accurate records, and improve service quality. We process this information in line with section 18 and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.
- Accuracy and confirmation. We aim to keep the virtual agent accurate, but any appointment arranged through it is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation by email or message (see section 4). Please check the details in your confirmation.
- Consent. By continuing to interact with the virtual agent, you consent to its use as described here. If you prefer not to use it, please contact us on the direct clinic line or by email.
- Third-party technology. The virtual agent may operate using third-party technology providers acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Consultation fees and any diagnostic fees, if applicable, are due according to the information shown at booking or provided by the clinic.
If diagnostics are recommended during your consultation, we will explain why they are needed and any related costs before proceeding.
If you have questions about an invoice, please contact us promptly.
To organize your consultation and provide safe care, we may collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Reason for visit and appointment notes
- Relevant medical and dental information, for example symptoms, medications, and allergies, where appropriate
Medical and dental records can include sensitive information and are subject to strict confidentiality rules, including professional secrecy.
If you ask to explore financing options, financing is provided by a third-party financing provider. Approval is not guaranteed and depends on the provider's assessment.
To support a financing request, we may collect and use additional details such as your date of birth, address, and the estimated treatment amount. Some information may need to be shared with the financing provider to process your request.
The financing provider is responsible for any credit decision and creditworthiness checks. Swiss consumer credit rules require lenders to assess creditworthiness and may involve checks with consumer credit information systems, such as IKO.
Where possible, sensitive financial information is provided by you directly to the financing provider.
We use your contact details to:
- Confirm and manage your appointment
- Send appointment-related messages, for example confirmations and reminders
- Communicate clinical and administrative information related to your care
When you book a first consultation, we use your contact details (name, email, phone) to manage your appointment. This includes confirmations, reminders, and important service messages related to your visit.
If you also want to receive clinic updates, offers, and educational information by email or SMS, you can give your consent during booking by ticking the marketing consent checkbox. We send marketing communications only when you have actively provided this consent (opt-in).
You can opt out at any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can also contact us at info@smiledesignboutique.com to stop marketing communications.
Appointment and service messages are separate from marketing. If you opt out of marketing, you may still receive appointment-related communications that are necessary to manage your booking and care.
We process personal data, including health data, to provide care, manage appointments, meet professional obligations, and handle billing and administrative tasks.
We treat patient information as confidential and do not disclose it to third parties unless:
- You have given valid consent, or
- Disclosure is permitted or required by Swiss law
Medical data disclosures are subject to professional secrecy and additional safeguards.
We follow the principles of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) when processing personal data.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect clinic operations or legal requirements. The version published on our website is the current version.
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be handled in the competent Swiss courts at the clinic's place of business, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
